this is like those posters at the library that they hang in the kid's section, where there's like a dog with sunglasses on and he's just chillin out with some books, and the poster says "READING IS COOL" or some shit

Here's a question for you: how come whenever you have a fictional character whose defining trait is that they "love to read," and this supposedly makes them an intellectual or something (and hence a good role model for kids), the only thing they actually "love to read" is escapist fiction? That's not exactly the most intellectual use to which the printed word has been put.
